Story adapted from a submission by Meri F., a longtime VetCS customer.
When Grace first joined my family, she was one of four rescues who filled my home with love, laughter, and muddy paw prints. She had a gentle soul and a playful spirit that made everyone around her smile.
One day, during a routine checkup for my other dog, Max, I casually mentioned that Grace seemed to get winded more easily than usual. My wonderful veterinarian felt her belly and immediately asked me to bring her back for an x-ray.
It only took one look. The scan showed that Grace had spleen cancer, and it had already spread. She was just five years old. I was told she might have a week, maybe a few months left to live.

Someone who didn’t believe in the power of CBD might have said goodbye right then. But I couldn’t.
With help from Trish at VetCS, we found the right CBD remedy and dosage plan for Grace. I wanted her to be comfortable, but I also wanted her to have quality of life and to still do the things she loved most.
And she did.
Grace lived two more happy, joyful years. She got to swim in the ocean, chase her favorite ball, and soak in every bit of love we could give her. She greeted every day with that same calm joy that made her so special.

When the time came, she let me know. Grace began sleeping more, eating less, and spending quiet time by herself. My vet, who had cared for her from the start, came in on her day off to help her pass peacefully, right in my car where she felt safe. She’s now buried alongside her two sisters, forever part of our family.
I share Grace’s story not to bring sadness, but to remind others that CBD for your dog can be a gentle, powerful ally. It gave us more time, more memories, and a way to say goodbye with peace and gratitude.
Thank you, VetCS, for helping Grace live her life fully and joyfully, right up to the end.
In Loving Memory of Grace
